Last Saturday, Bill and I spent the afternoon shopping in the Plaza. He was a good sport when I dragged him into the newly opened Kate Spade New York store. While I was busy playing with all the sparkly jewelry and contemplating these Christmas cards, he was eyeing the Latrice shoes. I have certainly trained him well because I immediately became obsessed. The picture does them no justice as these satin beauties are breathtaking in person. He urged me to try them on but I declined since I really don't know when I would wear these. I think I would get some strange looks in the office. However, if I were a soon-to-be bride, I think these would be perfect and so fun peeking out from under a white wedding dress.

Hearts Are Floating For...Happy Thanksgiving!
The last few weeks have been quite a whirlwind with most of it resulting in much to be thankful for. As I've already mentioned, we booked a trip to Asia. And this past weekend, I flew to Kansas City where we found a beautiful apartment that we will be moving to in January. I also finally broke the news at work and I am so thankful to have that over with.
Today I will be spending the holiday with friends and family doing the typical...eating, eating, napping and more eating. Everyone else will likely watch football and I will write my Christmas list and plan my holiday decorating. (In case it's not highly evident...I'm not a football fan.) Happy Thanksgiving to all! I wish you a very happy day.
Much love! Gobble...Gobble!

Hearts Are Floating For...Asia!
It's official...I'm going to Asia for two weeks! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. The nerves come from the insanely long plane ride of twelve hours. (I've developed a fear of flying recently.) And I have slight anxiety over the food. I'm rather adventurous compared to most but I draw the line at scorpions-on-a-stick. But all that aside, I am visiting the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and Hong Kong. This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip and I couldn't be happier. I leave after the new year and I predict that 2012 will be full of new and exciting adventures.

Hearts Are Floating For...Jonathan Adler
For the past three years, Laurie and I have spent 8 hours a day sharing an office. Tomorrow is her last day and an end of an era. I just finished wrapping her going away gifts. I chose some quirky Jonathan Adler office/desk accessories to wish her well on her new endeavor. I've always loved Jonathan's fun and playful home decor. I've decided to pick a few of my favorites and since I have so many, I've narrowed it down to my favorite pieces with an animal theme.
Elephants Salt & Pepper Shakers - How sweet would these be adorning your table for a dinner party?
Kitty Krack Canister - Daisy loves prosciutto, Bella loves blue corn chips...that's kitty krack around here.
Pig Canister - This spotted pig is part of the holiday 2011 collection but he could sit on my counter year-round.

Hearts Are Floating For...Method
Often, it's the little things that make a big difference. Small details can potentially make an impact that sets you apart from the mundane. Even in things like handsoap. Yes, handsoap. For me, there is nothing more boring than finding the standard bottle of antibacterial Dial or Softsoap perched on the counter. While it serves its purpose, it's so much more exciting to find a brand like Method with it's stylish shape and unique scents. Method products are also kind to our planet and who can argue with that. I was thrilled to find the holiday scents are available and snatched up both candy cane and frosted fir.

Hearts Are Floating For...Lucky Seven
Last week is still a bit of a blur. We went without power for six days. I managed to stay at home until Tuesday night but after Bill left for a business trip, I knew I couldn't stay in our dark and cold house alone. So I packed up some clothes and the kittens and moved us into my brother-in-law's house. It was a bit traumatic for all but when the temperatures in our home dipped into the 30s, I knew it was critical to leave.
Luckily, the power came back late Friday night, just in time for our anniversary weekend. I can't believe it's been seven wonderful years since our wedding. We had a romantic dinner at the 111 Chophouse and just spent lots of quality time together whether we were running errands or watching movies.

Happy Anniversary Billy! I love you!
A rather poor photo of our celebratory chocolate mousse.
My pretty amazing anniversary gift...Prada boots. He's a keeper!

No Floating Hearts...In The Dark
Greetings from my local coffee shop. We're going on day four of no power or heat. This crazy "snowtober" storm has really done some damage. A tree fell behind our house and snapped the power lines right in half. Our street is covered in branches so it's nearly impossible to park. Halloween was cancelled in our city. Nothing feels normal right now. No routine, no comfort...just getting by the best we can.
